My Business Process:

My business process that I participated in was KFC. I use to work there about a year ago. I worked as a cashier, my job was to take orders and bill them for their orders and then collect their money and I hand back their change if it is necessary. When I finish my shift on the cash register, I would count inventory making sure there was enough quantities of food and supplies for the store.
Activities: The payment activity, I would take orders from the customers and then exchange their goods with money. I would also count inventory, and check the shipping and receiving supplies.

Information:

With all this information gathered from inventory and taking orders I realized that KFC is not a very healthy choice of food. I would suggest a healthier burger, less oil used, baked meat and healthier condiments. KFC will then sell my products, making the exchange from selling my product to them as they sell it back to the customers.

My IS Day:

The information system I utilized today was Monster.ca. I used Monster.ca because I had an assignment to look for job ads that corresponded to my program, human resources. The five components is this system used was hardware, which is the computer I was on when I was researching to find a specific job. I then used the software, which was the internet, of course, and then there was me, acting as the people who are involved in the component. Then, the data received, which was the information I collected and finally the procedures.

My Favourite Sustainable and Disruptive Technologies:

My favourite sustainable everyday technology that I use everyday is my laptop to do online shopping. What makes my laptop and online shopping a sustainable technology rather then a disruptive one is that it builds on existing technology; it is an increment to existing computer technology. I'm connected throughout the world because of the internet; it keeps me very well posted to many different sites I enjoy visiting. A disruptive technology that I use everyday is my i-Pod, or my GPS. These technologies are disruptive because it lacks refinement; often has performance problems because it is new, appeals to a limited audience, and may not yet have a proven practical application.

My Personal Goals:

My personal goal in life is to travelling the whole continent of South America. I want to embrace the Spanish culture that is widely derived from their. I am also from Guyana which is located in South America; I would love to visit. I want to be indulged in the culture and understand it much better. Once finished from South America, I want to travel the rest of the world. I want to do engage in different things, see different faces and places. I want to experience life in many different forms, I figure if i see the world through another perspective I will be more informed and will not take the place where I live for granted.

My Employment History:

My employment history begins with when I was 16; I worked in a clothing store called Best Choice for 1 year. It was my first job and it was a very good experience. My duties required:

• Organize racks
• Assist customers with their correct sizes
• Replenish the shelves and racks
• Cashier

My second job I worked at KFC for 2 years. I worked my way up and made it to assistant manager; it was a very good experience for me as well. I’ve learned and grew from the experience to become a responsible and well rounded person. My job entitled:

• Balancing tills and safety deposits
• Managing the staff and training new employees
• Responsible for opening and closing the store
• Stocking, inventory
• Depositing cash to the bank
• Cashier
• Responsible for creating the schedule

My third job I was an employee for Crate and Barrel. This store was had mature cliental, this was a very great experience for me too. I’ve learn different decorating tips along with meeting new people. I was a stock associate, this job entitled:

• Replenishing shelves
• Assisting customers with their purchase
• Loading and uploading skids
• Counting inventory

Finally, I am currently working in No Frills as a cashier, applying for a position in head office.

My Community Involvement:

My community involvement has been a very good one. I’ve volunteered with my aunt in a doctor’s office for a year; I’ve assisted patients to their rooms, answering phones, and cleaned up the doctors office. Another community involvement I have participated in was volunteering in a community center in Toronto. I use to go their when I was a little girl so I decided I would give back and volunteer myself; I helped with arts and crafts, field trips, outdoor activities, and sports. Lastly,the most profound volunterring I've partake in was helping to raise money for breast cancer. My grandmother fell victim to breast cancer 6 years ago and has overcame it. My friends and I decided to do around the city of Toronto and Brampton helping to collect money for a breast cancer foundation we discovered within a hospital my grandmothre was diagnosed in. Every year I participate in the run/ walk to for breast cancer held in Toronto.

My Career Goals:

My career goals in business are quite simple; I want to be successful in Human Resource Management. I will strive to encourage myself to do better in my courses, I will finish my homework and review all my notes. I will understand all aspects of all my business courses so later on in my career I will be very well educated in different parts of my career. I am a very out spoken and well rounded individual, I will uses these abilities to my advantage in my career. I want to help people and make sure they know their rights in the workforce and are being treating equal. I use the knowledge I gain from every class and inquire them into my everyday life, with doing all of this I hope for the best in my career and If I follow these steps it can only help me to become very successful in my career.
